QR codes that keep working after cancellation.
The Anti-Trap Guarantee is simple: cancelling, downgrading, payment issues, or scan-detail limits do not switch off QR codes you already made.
Your existing codes keep working through normal plan changes.
- If you ever stop paying
Your paid plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then drops to Free. Every QR code you've made keeps working.
- If you switch to a smaller plan
All your existing codes keep working. You may not be able to make new ones past the smaller plan's limit, but nothing you already made is touched.
- If you hit your monthly analytics limit
Your codes keep working. We only pause analytics tracking until the next month – the codes themselves never stop.
- If a payment ever fails
We retry the charge over about two weeks. If all retries fail, you drop to the Free plan – and your codes keep working.
- If your subscription lapses
Same as stopping payment. You drop to Free. Every code keeps working forever.
- If you walk away and never come back
As long as your account exists, your codes keep working. There's no "use it or lose it" clock.
Three things that do break your codes.
We're being explicit so you're never surprised. This cancellation guarantee is about your plan, not destructive account actions.
- 1. Deleting your account
Account deletion is a deliberate, destructive action. When you delete your account, every QR code you've made stops working immediately and all your data is gone for good. This is not the same as cancelling a plan – cancelling keeps your codes alive; deleting destroys them.
We make account deletion deliberately hard so you can't do it by accident: multiple confirmation steps, an exact count of the codes that will break, and a typed "DELETE" to confirm. If you want out, we'll honour it – but not by mistake.
- 2. Deleting an individual QR code
If you delete a QR code from your dashboard, that code stops working. Deletion is intentional – the guarantee protects you from losing codes by accident, not from destroying them on purpose. If you just want to pause a code instead, use the pause toggle.
- 3. Terms of Service violations
If a code is used for phishing, scams, malware, or other things our Acceptable Use Policy bans, we'll take it down. Honest users never hit this.
Printed QR codes can't be unprinted.
Some QR services tie printed codes to an active paid plan. Stop paying, and the code on a sticker, menu, business card, or slide deck may stop sending people to the right place.
We think that is the wrong incentive. A billing change should not turn printed materials into dead ends, especially after customers already have them in hand.
So we made a different promise: plan changes affect limits and features, not whether existing QR codes redirect.
Questions about cancellation and QR codes
Does "forever" really mean forever?
As long as EternalQR exists and your account exists, your codes keep working. We have no hidden expiry or grace period that runs out. If you want a code to expire, you have to set an expiry date yourself.
What happens if EternalQR shuts down?
We can't guarantee service in perpetuity if the company ceases to exist. But we commit to giving at least 60 days' notice before any shutdown, so you have time to update your links elsewhere. We're a bootstrapped, profitable product – not VC-backed, not built to be flipped.
What if I want to delete my account later?
You can, from your dashboard. We'll show you exactly how many QR codes will stop working, make you confirm multiple times, and require you to type "DELETE" before we proceed. After that, every code you've made is gone. The guarantee covers plan changes, not account deletion – they're deliberately separate actions.
Is there a catch?
No. The Free plan keeps up to 5 codes working. Paid plans keep more. Stop paying and you drop to Free limits, but every code still works. The only exceptions – account deletion, deleting an individual code, and Terms violations – are listed above. That's the entire list.
Start free. Printed codes are protected from plan changes.
Create up to 5 QR codes on the free plan. If you upgrade later and cancel, existing codes still redirect.
